Eric Evers Whitmore, 61, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at his Manheim Township home, with his loving wife by his side.

He was the husband for 33 years.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Raymond E. "Scoop" and the late Irene Wildy Whitmore, of New Holland.

Eric attended Valley Forge Military Academy and graduated from Garden Spot High School.

He completed courses at Penn State University and Millersville University, and completed his Ph.D. in Education from West Chester University.

Eric taught health and physical education at J. P. McCaskey High School and then worked in adult education for the PA Department of Education.

From 1981 to 2011 he owned Whitmore Printing and then completed his career at The Standard Group.

He competed on the US gymnastic team at the 1968 Summer Olympic Games in Mexico City.

An avid golfer, he scored a hole in one on every par 3 at Hawk Valley and Meadia Heights Golf Clubs, and several at Bent Creek Country Club.

Eric also had a double eagle at Meadia Heights, road hole old #7.

Eric was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wrightsville.

Surviving in addition to his wife, his son, grandchildren, sister of New Holland, four nephews and one niece.

A Funeral will be held 11 AM Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA.

Viewings will take place at the funeral home on Monday from 6-9 PM and Tuesday from 10-11 AM.

Private Interment.
