OBITUARY: MARY MESSICK IS DEAD AT 89 -
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. tomorrow in McNary Memorial Chapel for Mrs. Mary Adeline Messick, 89, of 624 Parkhill street, Colusa, who died yesterday in Colusa Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Messick had been hospitalized since December.
A native of Sycamore, Mrs. Messick was born 7 January, 1877, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter A. Earp, a pioneer family of the county who came to California from Kentucky. Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Caldwell of Grimes: sisters, Berta Robertson of Grimes and Emma McManus of Gridley; a foster son, Roland Barber of Atwater, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, one daughter, and a sister, and three brothers preceeded her in death.
Mrs. Messick was a member of the first Christian Church of Colusa and her pastor, the Rev. Robert A. Eldred, will officiate at the services which will be followed by internment in the family plot in the Meridian cemetery [Colusa Sun Herald, Monday, August 8, 1966].
