He was born in the home of Bernice Kenneth and Mary Hawkins Beaty. He was the second of six children. He was a veteran of the Korean War.

He married Martha Elnora Jones from Stewardson on June 18, 1953. Their wedding was at the Washington United Methodist Church near Stewardson, IL.

He and Elnora had four children: Bryan Kenneth "Ken", Gregory "Greg" Harlen, Ava Kathleen, and Randall Luther.

Bryan felt the call to preach while on the USS Breckenridge while on his way to the Korean War. He started pastoring after he and Elnora were married in 1953. For 33 years he served the Lord as a pastor and evangelist in the Church of the Nazarene. He pastored churches in Illinois, Florida, and Alabama. He conducted revivals in more than 12 states.

His children developed their musical talents and formed The Beaty Trio and Randy. They traveled with Bryan assisting in revival campaigns and holding concerts. At the time of Bryan's death, the singing group had been changed to The New Beaty Trio.

Bryan died at the Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi after a short illness.
