MARIANNA, Fla. -- Mrs. Mattie A. Bowling, 88, of Marianna died Wednesday, May 31, 2000 at Jackson Hospital.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 2 at noon (CDT) at Maddox Chapel in Marianna. Burial followed in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Shiloh, Ala. at 5 p.m. (CDT).
Mrs. Bowling is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, George and Annette Bowling of Albany, Ga., James and Peggy Bowling of Blairsville, Ga., Frank and Janie Bowling of Panama City Beach, Fla., and Russell Bowling of Marianna; four daughters and sons-in-law, Alene and James Crosby of Decatur, Ga., Mary Ann and George Hill of Scottsburg, Ind., Zeina Metcalf of Duluth, Ga., and Janice and Jim Brown of Marianna; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Born in Chambers County, Mrs. Bowling moved to Jackson County in 1952. She was a homemaker and a member of Eastside Baptist Church. She enjoyed her Sunday school and being a member of the church Joy Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas S. Bowling.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Eastside Baptist Church Building Fund.
