Jerome "Jerry" Wieberg, 80, Koeltztown, died July 10, 2000, at his home. He was born Jan. 8, 1920, in Koeltztown, a son of Herman and Catherine Boeckmenn Wieberg. He was married Aug. 13, 1941, in St. Anthony, to Lucille Casey, who survives at the home. He served in the Army during World War II and earned two Bronze Stars. He was a welder for DeLongs, Inc., Jefferson City, for 30 years. He was a member of the Argyle VFW Post 8045 and St. Boniface Catholic Church, Koeltztown. Other survivors include: three sons, Gerald Wieberg, Wardsville, Gary Wieberg, Taos, and Robert Wieberg, Koeltztown; one brother, Andy Wieberg, Duncombe, Iowa; one sister, Aharta Libbert, Meta; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Koeltztown. Msgr. Bernard Boessen will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Rekus Funeral Home, Meta, with a rosary at 7 p.m., and from 8-9:30 a.m. Thursday, also at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. Boniface Catholic Church or Missouri River Hospice, Jefferson City."
