Adam the fourth child of Daniel and Naomi Castner was born July 8 1772 and was educated in the common school of that day.He learned the carpenter trade and followed it for many years. He also worked some at cooperating and was quite ingenious in mechanic arts. He came to the country with his father's family in 1805 and in 1806 he helped to build a bar for Robert S.Rose east of the village of Geneva and likewise a part of his time on the farm he had helped to purchase in the town of Torrey. He and his brother John formed a partnership and worked together until 1849 and accumulated quit a large estate. In that year, they dissolved the partnership and divided the property. Adam married Hannah Annibal of Saratoga County July 25 1819 and their family consisted of five children; Catherine N, Lydia M, Daniel R,Mary C, and Jon Q,
