LAKEWOOD - Death of H. Z. Peterson
the funeral of Hans Z. Peterson, who passed away Thursday evening in the Veterans' hospital in Bremerton after an illness of three months, was held Monday afternoon in the First Lutheran church, Rev. Ross had charge of the services. John Thompson and son Emmett sang a duet, "Come Unto Me," and Mrs. Ross sang a solo, "There is a Beautiful Home," Mrs. Will Powell accompanying on the organ. A hymn was sung by the congregation in the Norwegian language. Mr. Peterson was a veteran of the World War and a member of the American Legion and the casket was draped with a large American flag. The floral offerings were numerous and beautiful. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, four daughters, Pearl, Jorun, Hilman, and Nora, two brothers and a sister in Norway, a nephew, Hjalmar Huglen, who resides at the family home in Lakewood. Interment under the Elmer Schaefer Funeral Company of Marysville was held in the Arlington cemetery. Mr. Peterson was very well liked by everyone and will be greatly missed in the community where he has lived for many years. The casket bearers were John Sather, of Lake Goodwin, John Wangsmo of Arlington, John Jacobson, John Romstead, Paul Pederson and Otto Bjorn. The sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved family.
