Mr. B.E. "Gene" Autrey, age 99, of Georgetown, La., passed away Sunday, March 19, 2006, at the Parkview Nursing Home in Winnfield, La. He was a member of the Georgetown United Pentecostal Church. Mr. Autrey was recently honored as Georgetown's most senior citizen and presided over the grand opening of the new town park.
He was the son of the late Jefferson M. Autrey and the late Amanda Edortha (Lofton) Autrey. Mr. Autrey was also preceded in death by his wife, Love Autrey; daughter, June Autrey; and two sons, Arliss E. and Larry Allen Autrey.
Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield, La. The family will receive friends at the Georgetown United Pentecostal Church from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM Tuesday, March 21, 2006 and from 8:00 AM until service time Wednesday, March 22, 2006. Funeral services will be held at the Georgetown United Pentecostal Church at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 22, 2006 , with Rev. R. Tipton officiating. Interment will be at the Georgetown Cemetery in Georgetown, La.
