Mother: Cleo Hawkins. Cleo was born in Ruth, Rutherford, NC in 1885/6, died in Glendale, Spartanburg, SC in 1935, and is buried in the Glendale Community Cemetery. Her parents were M. E. Hawkins and Emma Harriett, both born in NC. Sources: various census records and the SC death certificate.
