Richard Roddy, Sr. died at his home at Galvez, Ascension parish, Tuesday morning at the age of 77 years. The funeral was held on Wednesday morning from the family residence with interment in Mt. Zion cemetery.
Mr. Roddy was a lifelong resident of Ascension parish, having been born there January 19, 1850. He leaves his devoted wife, who was formerly Miss Adelle Dixon, one daughter, Mrs. Ida Nickins, six sons, Edward, Richard, Jr., Reuben, Deamond, George and James Roddy, all of Ascension parish, 29 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
