Son of Nathaniel Almond 1731 – 1789 and Alsey Comaday Cannady 1731 – 1790

Served 3 times in the military during the Revolutionary War (verified per his Pension document w/name of Edward Allman)

Married Jennie Dutton in 1784 in Orange Co, NC. They were the parents of 14 known children.

NOTE: 13 Sep 2015-Thanks to a cousin for questioning the 'Hinson' as his first name. No verification can be made so I deleted Hinson from his first name and from my tree. I just found his last Will, signed & dated 8 Jan 1839, with the name of Edward Almond.

Per Lou Poole..."Very, very few people of British Isles heritage (not true of German, Swiss, French or Spanish heritage) had more than one given name prior to the Revolution. It comes from a very old English law that only the nobility could have more than one given name, but by the 1600s & 1700s it had become more of just a custom..."
