Thomas "Tom" Leland Ring, 70, of Oshkosh, passed away Tuesday morning, March 6, 2012 at the University Of Colorado Hospital in Denver after a short illness. Tom was born on June 13, 1941 in Dodge City, Kansas to Jacob Noah "Jake" and Anna M. (Wolf) Ring.

Tom grew up and attended schools in the Wright Community at Wright, Kansas.

Tom married Janice Johnson at Wright, Kansas and the couple later divorced. On December 7, 1970 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Myra Schlegel, in Cimarron, Kansas. Tom and Myra were married for 41 wonderful years.

Tom lived on a farm and worked in various gas plants and anhydrous plants in Kansas, Colorado, and Wyoming. Upon his retirement he moved to Oshkosh, Nebraska where he found a quiet, peaceful area that he called home with his wife.

Tom loved the outdoors, gardening, fishing, hunting and working with his hands. The joy of his life was his wife, Myra, and the ten most wonderful grandchildren. Tom was to have another grandchild and a great-grand daughter in the coming months. Tom will be missed by a large family and numerous friends.

Tom is survived by: wife, Myra Ring; children, Lisa Ring of Penrose, Colorado and fiancé Tim Hall, Bob Ring and wife Angelina of Loveland, Colorado, Brenda Reedy and husband Rommel of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Rhonda Alfano and husband Thomas of Wellington, Colorado and Shelly Thorup and husband Cyrus of Evanston, Wyoming; grandchildren, Jacob Ring, Anna Miller, Alexandra Ring, Kiara Nicholls, Joe Alfano, Landon Thorup, Rebeccah Reedy and husband Shylow, Benjamin Reedy, Aspynn Ellis, and Emeri Ellis; a great-grandchild; brothers, Arnold Ring of Kearney, Nebraska, LeRoy Ring of Davenport, Florida, and Gerald Ring of Dodge Ciry, Kansas; sister, Patricia Ring Tieben of Dodge City, Kansas; and a host of relatives and friends.

Tom was preceded in death by: parents, grandparents, and sister Eleanor Ackerman, brothers-in-law Ray Ackerman and Jimmy Tieben.

Burial was in the Oshkosh City Cemetery, Oshkodh, NE.
