An investigator with the city of Baton Rouge gaming enforcement office and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 1 a.m. Friday, March 6, 1998, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 70 and a native of Chesbrough. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Visiting was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. Visiting at the funeral home chapel, 10 a.m. until religious services at 1 p.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Thurston Brice. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by wife, Patricia Anderson, Baton Rouge; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lanette Whatley, Dallas, Sharon K. and Edwin "Rusty" Smith, Shreveport, and Becky and Don Roberts, Baton Rouge; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jan Whatley, Baton Rouge; a sister, Billie Ballard, Baton Rouge; a brother, Joe B. Anderson, New Orleans; three grandchildren, Jana Whatley, Shannon Sanchez and Jonathan Smith; two great-grandchildren, Chase Dupuis and Raini
