After a protracted illness, Mrs Ann Sterling Purdy, wife of Williams Lowe Purdy died last night shortly before 11: o'clock at the family residence 703 Hepburn Street. She has been suffering for 7 years with a disease that finally caused her death. She had been a resident here since 1843 when she removed from Milton with her parents Dr Samuel & Mrs Pollock. she was born in the down river town May 8 1836 and was in her 75th year. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. The deceased is survived by her husband and three children, Henry H and Miss Mary P of this city and James s of Hanaker Va.
