Aurelia Cotton Archer, 81, of the 1300 block of Bolton St., died May 7, 2000, at Bon Secours DePaul Hospital.
Born in Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Aurelia Beatrice Archer and the late Isaac Reuben Archer. Ms. Archer had been retired for 18 years as the bookstore manager from Norfolk State University after 35 years of service. She was a member of St. John A.M.E. Church and its Chancel Choir and Sunday School. She was also a member of the Virginia State University Alumni Association.
Survivors include a sister, Audrey Ann Robinson of Norfolk and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John AME Church, Bute St., Norfolk, by the Rev. Larry Stanwyck Hinton. Viewing will be from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church before the service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Hale Funeral Home.
