YATES CENTER, KS -- Essie M. Morrison, 82, Yates Center, Kansas, died April 12, 2004, at Infinia Health Care Center, Yates Center, Kansas.

She was born March 2, 1922, in Augusta, Kansas, the daughter of Aaron and Myrtle (Parks) Hamilton.

On February 21, 1942, she married Cecil "Buck" Morrison. He preceded her in death.

She lived most of her life in Yates Center, KS, working as a cook for the Rose School District, and as a homemaker.

Survivors include 5 sons, Floyd Morrison, Newton, KS, Harrell Morrison and Larry Morrison, both of Iola, KS, and Gary Morrison and Donald Morrison, both of Yates Center, KS; a daughter, Unetta Hoag, Newton, KS; 5 sisters, Myrtle Caudell, Iola, KS, Clara Griffin and Millie Cole, both of Eureka, KS, Ella Jo Dill, Wichita, KS, and Charlene Brockman, Newton, KS; 23 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be April 15, 2004, at Yates Center Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home, Yates Center, Kansas.
