BRADLEY POWELL'S MOTHER DIES TODAY AT HOME IN LINNEUS - Moberly Monitor-Index & Evening Democrat; Moberly, Randolph Co, MO - February 7, 1947 - pg 2, col 4.

Mrs Marian Powell of Linneus, mother of Bradley Powell, telegraph editor of the Monitor-Index, died at 7:25 o'clock this morning at her home. She was 65 years old. Mrs Powell had been ill for several months and gravely ill for some time. Daughter of the late Mr and Mrs William F Stone, she was born and lived her entire life, in Linn County. Her husband Alonzo E Powell, died in 1931. She was a member of the Linneus Baptist church. Mrs Powell is survived by nine children, five sons and four daughters. They are: Bradley Powell, Moberly, Francis Powell, Livingston, Mont., Gerald Powell, Sublette, Kas., and Raymond and G W Powell, both of Indianapolis; Mrs Very Rinehart, Linneus, Mrs Leona Reid, Neosho Rapids, Kas., Mrs Marian Stillwell, Sullivan and Mrs Nina Birney, Satanta, Kas.; 20 grandchildren and five sisters. Funeral arrangements are not yet completed.
