He was retired from Monsanto with 37 years of service. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Moose Lodge and VFW. He was a native of Little Birch and a 43-year resident of Nitro.
Surviving: sons, Larry S. of Hurricane, Jeffrey O. of Nitro, Gregory O., with the Army, stationed in Germany; daughter, Nancy C. Lanham of Charleston; brother, Gerald of St. Petersburg, Fla; sisters, Garnett Griffey of Annapolis, Md., Virginia Knell of Nitro; four grandchildren.
