Private services were held today in Parson Mortuary for Ward Haffner, 59, a former Muncie resident living in Connersville, who died Saturday at the Fayette County Hospital. Burial was in Elm Ridge Cemetery.
He was a Wells County native and lived and worked in Muncie during the early 1940's before he became ill. After he retired in 1947, he lived in Richmond for several years.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Esther Haffner, Muncie; three daughters, Mrs. Fred Wilkins, Mrs. Jack Keihn, and Mrs. Billy Townsend, all of Muncie; two sisters, Mrs. John White and Mrs. Richard Favors, both of Muncie; two brothers, Arlett and Norval Haffner, both of Muncie; and 12 grandchildren.
