Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Mims Sarver, 92, who died June 7, 2012 at Lafayette General Hospital.

Rev. Jim Hoffman will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to the time of service. Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Mr. Sarver was a businessman of Crowley that was born November 27, 1919. He was a pioneer in the nursing home industry when he opened up his first in 1964 in Lafayette. Mims was a hard worker in the fields of Acadia Parish.

He is survived by four daughters, Gwen Petry and her husband, Jeffrey of Crowley, Peggy Smith and her husband, Jimmy of Rayne, Linda Foreman and her husband, Glynn of Rayne, and Terry Billeaud and her husband, Danny of Scott; three sons, Lonnie Sarver, Bubba Sarver and his wife, Myra, and Don Sarver and his wife Sherry all of Crowley; his daughter-in-law, Willie Bell Sarver of Crowley; twenty-seven grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren; and his faithful friend, Glenn Joffrion of Indian Bayou.

Mr. Sarver is preceded in death by his wife, Inez Sarver; his son, J.B. Sarver; his parents, Isaac and Laura Morgan Sarver; five grandchildren; one sister, Theresa Deshotel, one brother, Gary Sarver; one daughter-in-law, Jonel Sarver.

The family would like to thank his caretakers and the Courtyard Nursing Facility for their care during his last years.
