Miss Sarah Smyth became the wife of Tobias Stilley Riddle in Douglas County on, 02 Feb 1868. From that day forward they shared in a marriage that was filled with lifes activities in the raising, caring for and feeding of a family. With all it's pleasures and hardships that come by living in a sinful world.

Court Records from Douglas County, show that on the 8th. of October 1890, Sarah Riddle, a housewife, was commited to the Hawthorne Asylum, Case No. 068. That on the 25th of October of that same year she died at the State Hospital, Vol. 1G. These records can be found in the Oregon State Archives in Salem, Oregon. The new Hawthorne Asylum was located in Salem, Oregon.
