Rounsevell Mortuary records of Lead state that Clyde Henebree Rowland resided at 117 1/2 Galena Street in Lead; born at St. Joe, Oregon on July 26, 1875; died on August 18, 1937 of pulmonary tuberculosis at the age of 62 years 22 days; occupation - laborer at the Homestake Mining Company; Presbyterian; resident of South Dakota for 24 years; father - Thomas Rowland, born Kentucky; mother - Mary Henebree, born Kentucky; funeral on August 20, 1937.

Lead Daily Call newspaper, August 19, 1937 - C.H. Rowland, 62, a well-known resident of Lead, died at the family residence on Galena street at 5:45 o''clock yesterday afternoon as the result of an illness of about five years. Two years of that time he spent in the Woodmen Sanitarium at San Antonio, Texas, and he stayed on the west coast for a year in the hope of benefiting his health. He had been at his home in Lead this summer. Mr. Rowland was born in St. Joe, Oregon, July 26, 1875, and had resided in the Black Hills since 1908. He had been a resident of Lead the past 24 years, during which time he was in the employ of the Homestake Mining company. He was retired on pension last June...Surviving him are his wife and six children, Clyde, Herbert of Deadwood, Mrs. Frances Pfeiffer, of Terry, and John, Marion, and Gladys, Lead; two grandchildren, Clydine Mae Rowland of Lead and Thomas Albert Rowland of Deadwood; a brother and sister, Herbert and Miss Effie Rowland, both living in California. The deceased served in the army during the Philippine Insurrection in 1905, and at the close came to Fort Meade with K Troop, Fourth Calvary.
