He was born in Cherokee, AL on February 18, 1930, a son of the late Vinemon Floyd and Mildred Baldwin Floyd. Mr. Floyd had been a resident of Rockmart for the past 53 years. He was a member of County Line Baptist Church and retired from the Goodyear Mill. Mr. Floyd was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Gary Floyd, on March 26, 2007.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Doris Potts Floyd of Rockmart to whom he was married on June 12, 1948; 2 daughters Mrs. Ann Galloway, Albertville, AL and Mrs. Kayron Holbrooks, Cedartown, GA; one son Mr. Keith Floyd, Piedmont, AL; 4 brothers: Mr. Edward Floyd, Powder Springs, GA; Mr. Carroll Floyd, Mobile, AL; Mr. Miron Floyd, Rockmart, and Mr. Bill Floyd, Blairsville, GA; 4 sisters: Mrs. Helen Williams, Cedartown, Mrs. Dot Cradock, Clayton, GA, Mrs. Kathryn Chambers, Rome, and Mrs. Wanda Wilson, Rockmart; 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren also survive.
