Elizabeth "Pete" Elizabeth "Pete" Orlena Crocker was born January 23, 1917, the daughter of Dora McKenzie and Loman Johnson of Walnut Grove, Missouri. She went to be with the Lord Thursday, September 14, 2006. She married Marvin Crocker Jr. on January 8, 1940. Their marriage spanned over 58 years, with Marvin going to be with the Lord, November 19, 1988. As a couple, they lived in Springfield their entire lives. Pete taught mostly first grade from 1956-1979 at Sherwood Elementary School in Springfield. She was a member of East Avenue Baptist (now National Heights), and since 1968, and South Haven Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Terry and his wife, Candace; grandchildren: Andrew and Margaret Crocker, Corey Johnson, and Chris and Carissa Johnson; great granddaughter, Sydney Johnson; and a nephew, David Johnson.

The Christian faith and the Baptist denomination were significant parts of her life, being a member of East Avenue Baptist (now National Heights), and since 1968, and South Haven Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Terry and his wife, Candace; grandchildren: Andrew and Margaret Crocker of the Kansas City area, Corey Johnson of Monett, and Chris and Carissa Johnson, Chicago, Ill.; great-granddaughter, Sydney Johnson; and a nephew, David Johnson of Walnut Grove. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. today, September 15, in Greenlawn Funeral Home South.
