Emma grew up in Belgrade and attended school there, graduating from Belgrade High School in 1935. She was united in marriage to Russell T. Foland on Aug. 17, 1937, in Fullerton. The couple moved to Oregon, and then back to Belgrade, where they were engaged in farming. They retired in 1981. The couple was blessed to celebrate 71 years of marriage. Russell died on March 11, 2009.
Emma was a member of Belgrade United Methodist Church. She enjoyed going to dances with her husband, and they spent time gardening together. She also loved flowers and crocheting.
Emma was preceded in death by: parents, husband, Russell Foland, brothers, John, Earl, Roy, Albin, Verne, Wilmer and Floyd Reeves, sisters, May McKensie, Pearl Reeves and Anna Valentine Nichols.
Survivors are: sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald Terry and Margie Foland of Fullerton, Lowell E. and Marilyn Foland of Belgrade and Thomas L. and Phyllis Foland of Omaha; one daughter and son-in-law, Catherine Ann and Gene Sebastian of Omaha; 12 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
Burial was in the Belgrade Main Cemetery, Belgrade, NE.
