Gene Edward McCollum passed away August 9, 2007 in Oklahoma City. He was born to Noah Victor and Maude Ramer McCollum on June 19, 1929 in Oklahoma City. He graduated from Central High School in 1948 and married his high school sweetheart Betty Ann Gregory on September 30, 1950. He served in the US Army in Korea during the Korean War conflict. He worked for Farmers Union and Kirkpatrick Oil as a computer programmer and the State of Oklahoma as an auditor. He loved golfing with his life-long buddies. He enjoyed traveling with his family and friends. When traveling, he sought out the local flavor.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty, their eldest son Gene Edward "Eddie" McCollum, Jr., his parents Noah and Maude, his sisters Lois and Ruth and his brother Vance.

He is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, 4 grandsons and a granddaughter-in-law, and 2 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Tuesday, August 14 at 10 am at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Oklahoma City Community Foundation in the name of Gene E. McCollum Jr. Memorial fund to support the Burn Center at Integris Baptist Medical Center.
