At the age of 11 years she came to Kansas with her father, three sisters, and one brother shortly after the death of her mother. The family located in Wilson County. She was united in marriage with Guy Walter Tefft January 29, 1894. To this union 10 children were born. Mr. Tefft passed away October 15, 1914. Since then she has always devoted her time to rearing her family. She was a true Christian mother at heart in deeds and actions, always willing to help others in time of illness. She had been in failing health the past 5 years, and bedfast the last 6 weeks.
Besides her husband one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Tefft Jarred and three grandchildren have preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing three sons, Ben Tefft of the home, Roy Tefft of Parsons, and Harvey Tefft of Earlton. Six daughters, Mrs. Edith Exum, Coffeyville, Mrs. Ollie Offenbacker, Pittsburg, Mrs. Gladys Smith, Opportunity, Wash, Mrs. Pearl Solley, Liberty Hill, TX, Mrs. Flossie Beck of Roper, Mrs. Fern Wooten of Leon, 25 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren besides a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends. **Actually 1895**
