In 1930 Leonard was working as an air brake tester at the railroad.

Berwyn, Illinois:
In 1940 during the World War II draft registration, he was living in Berwyn, Illinois and was still working for the railroad. It was now the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad and he was at the Chicago, Illinois terminal.

Death:
He died on December 12, 1979 in December 12, 1979, Pinellas Park, Pinellas County, Florida, and may have been buried in Mount Olive Cemetery.
