Sara also loved her family. She married Richard L. Ellis Sr. when she was age 14. Richard passed away in 1984. With loving and cherished memories, Sara leaves behind one daughter, Mary Nell Ellis Daughtry; son-in-law, Russell Daughtry; grandchildren, Chris and wife, Lindsay, Matt Daughtry and great-granddaughter, Taylor Daughtry. In 2003, Sara was preceded in death by her son, Richard L. Ellis Jr. Surviving from his family is one daughter-in-law, Brenda C. Parker; grandchildren, Tonya E. and Scott Wells, Tammie E. Bolton, Richard Ellis III; great-grandchildren, Anthony Parker, Laine Wells, Bridget Nessmith, Lee Hendrix and Trey Bolton.
Sara is also survived by one sister, Neva Akins.
A second chapter in her life began a couple of years later when she married William Ray Barfield of Swainsboro. This added to her life two daughters, Betty Mills and family of Savannah and Mary Ann and Louis Pearce and family of Swainsboro. Ray died in 1987. What a joy and blessing they are to our family.
Another addition to her family were Carolyn and Johnnie Covington, Dawn Kersey and Sharon Conner. Their love and devotion meant so much to Sara and her family. Others we must mention that Sara loved so dearly were Joan Riggs, Norman and Rachel Schmidt and family.
Sara was a member of the Eastern Heights Baptist Church.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Louis Pearce officiating. Burial will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
