Mr. King was a bricklayer and cement finisher. He had also farmed most of his life. He also worked at Purdue University as a service worker for 12 years, retiring in 1977. He was a member of Pentecostal Church of God, where he was a Sunday school teacher and superintendent, as well as a member of the board of trustees. His hobbies included coon hunting and gardening.
Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Juanita Kay Jessee (husband Kenneth Bill) of Sedalia, KY, Marilyn VanHoosier (husband Marlin) and Judy A. Black (husband Phil), both of Lafayette; one son, Don King (wife Bonnie) of Lafayette; one sister, Lou Ella Ellison (husband Ray) of Tazewell, TN; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
