Gerald Ray Lewis, 59, of Economy, died Thursday, November 23, 2006, in Reid Hospital, Richmond.
He was born in Winchester on November 30, 1946, the son of Marvin and Alta Dobbs Lewis. He spent much of his life in Newton County and Lafayette, before returning to the Economy area a few months ago.
He was a 1965 graduate of Hagerstown High School, and was a former employee of Dana Corp. in Hagerstown. He was a member of Goodland Methodist Church and the Goodland Masonic Lodge. He had been a farmer and an employee of Wabash National in Lafayette.
Gerald is survived by his parents; 2 children, Jennifer Trout (Larry) and Douglas Lewis (Tammy); 2 grandchildren, Lauren and Luke; 4 brothers, Ralph Lewis (Nancy), Roger Lewis (Janet), Carl Lewis (Debbie) and Ronnie Lewis (Sandee); 2 sisters, Cathy Stamback and Vanessa Cross (Terry).
Two Sisters, Joyce Lewis and Elizabeth Lewis preceded him in death.
Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 26, in Culberson Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Pastor Paul Gearhardt will officiate. burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m. Sunday. A Masonic memorial service will immediately precede the funeral service.
