Dorothy W. Perdue, 85, of 2598 Brokensword Road, Bucyrus, died at 8:47 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, at Bucyrus Community Hospital; her death was unexpected.
Mrs. Perdue was born Feb. 15, 1923, in Portland, Tenn., to the late Charlie H. and Hazel (Hunter) Freeman.
She was married July 8, 1939, to Grady C. Perdue, who preceded her in death Nov. 14, 2002.
Mrs. Perdue is survived by: two sons, Gilbert (Sharon) Perdue of Tiffin and Wayne (Sue Ann) Perdue of Bucyrus; a son-in-law, Mike Crum of Sandusky; seven grandchildren, Angie (Rodney) Reynolds of Bedford, Ind., Duane Perdue, Diana (Steve) Sherman, Chad (Alicia) Perdue, Gina (Clyde) McCleese and Spencer Perdue, all of Bucyrus, and Matthew (Annette) Crum of Sandusky; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Geraldine Groves, Portland, Tenn., Maxine (Hayden) Searcy, Portland, Tenn. Cora Mee of Nevada; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by daughter, Carolyn Crum, a sister, Shirley and a brother, James.
Mrs. Perdue assisted her husband, Grady, in the roofing business for more than 50 years. She lived most of her life in Bucyrus and was a member of the Full Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God for more than 60 years. Mrs. Perdue enjoyed gardening and flowers.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at the Full Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God, with the Rev. Rodney Reynolds officiating.
Burial is at Brokensword Cemetery.
Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, at Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home, 215 N. Walnut St., Bucyrus, OH 44820, (419) 562-6776.
The family suggests memorials be made to the church or the donor's choice through the funeral home.
