John worked as a car hostler for the Pennsylvania Railroad. He was a member of the Marysville Moose Lodge No. 821, the American Legion of Duncannon, the American Legion Post 1001 of Harrisburg, and the Enola Sportsmen Club.
John Adams Myers died in Marysvliie, at the home of his son, Sherwood Myers, on November 19, 1950. He was 66 years of age. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Robert E. Nale, pastor of the Marysville Lutheran Church. Burial was at Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
