Funeral services for Mr. Loyd Paul Ussery will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2012 in the chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville with Reverend Lynn P. Clayton officiating. Burial will be in Philadelphia Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Mr. Ussery, 81, of Pineville, died Friday, March 2, 2012 at Northwest LA War Veterans Home in Bossier City.
Mr. Ussery was a retired supervisor for Bell South during his working life and was a member of Bell South Pioneers. He was also a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin P. Ussery and Florence Craig Ussery; first wife of 35 years, Marilyn Jean Duncan Ussery; and a twin brother, Floyd Phillip Ussery; granddaughters, Kasey L. Seals and Chelsie K. Seals.
Survivors include his wife of thirteen years, Paulina Underwood Ussery; sons, Loyd L. Ussery and wife, Cindy, Rev. Blaine Ussery and wife, Cathy; stepson, Dr. James W. Quillin and wife, Paige; daughters, Dottie U. Cavalier and husband, Wilson, Tyra U. Bryant, Myra U. Seals; stepdaughter, Susie Q. Ward and husband, Russell; brother, Benny A. Ussery; 24 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 5 great, great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mark Soileau, Sgt. Devin Bryant, Evan Bryant, Brandon Billings, Loyd Shane Ussery, Jeremy Paulk, and Blane Michael Ussery. Honorary pallbearer will be Landon A. Seals.
