Mrs. Minnie Ruth Rainbolt, Bedford florist, residing at 1917
"I" Street, died at 2:25 PM Sunday in the Methodist Hospital
in Indianapolis where she recently had been under treatment …
She was the daughter of Daniel W. and Charity Taflinger Smith
and was born in Columbus, Indiana… She wed Peter Rainbolt in
December 1898 … He preceded her in death November 23, 1943 ….
Mrs. Rainbolt had operated a floral business in Bedford since 1912..
She belonged to the First Christian Church …
Survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Cora Broka and Mrs. Maude Swain,
both of Seymour, and Miss Sudie Smith of Columbus, a brother,
Dan W. Smith of Columbus ; a step daughter, Mrs. Frank Stonaker of
Jeffersonville, and three step sons, Horace, Mahlon and Urban Rainbolt,
all of Bedford …
The body was brought to the Day and Carter Mortuary for burial
preparation and will lie in state there until after 2 PM Tuesday ….
Funeral services will be conducted from the Elmwood Chapel at 2 PM
Wednesday with the Rev. S. S. Lappin, pastor of the Leatherwood
Christian Church in charge ….

His wife, Sarah Catherine Taflinger was born in in Lexington, Scott County, Indiana in 1855.. She died in 1915..Her father, a staunch German citizen, and with his brother, operated a flour mill at his house near New Washington, Indiana...
