My father was born into a very religous Baptist family. His father, Reverend Richard H. Philpot, founded a church in east Houston early in my father's life. My Dad graduated from high school in Odessa, Texas and from there attended law school at Baylor University where his father and younger sister, Dickie Lou, attended as well. Eventually, life took my father to Houston, Texas where after having my older sister Valerie, he had 3 other sons. Family, The Lord Jesus Christ, and Baylor football were probably the most cherished qualities instilled in my father. Whether being the life of the party, making people laugh, or just a simple conversation, my father's enduring love for life always shone through. I remember the many Saturday mornings traveling to Waco to watch the Bears play, the ski trips to Ruidoso, New Mexico, and the countless trips to "The Camp" we took. On the morning of March 27th, 2004, my father passed away from a heart attack. The void that my brothers and sister feel will never be filled. In conclusion, I just want to say that my father never wanted for fancy things or the newest technology, but he was his own person and that I will forever admire. We love you Dad and miss you eternally until we are reunited again! "Sic 'em Bears!"
