Richard Demartin, one of Savannahs oldest and best known citizens, died suddenly yesterday afternoon at his residence on Broughton St. The deceased was born in New Haven CT July 5, 1821. He came to Savannah in 1848 and ran the 1st express train out of Savannah over the Central RR. Mr Demartin was a member of the Chatham Artillery. He leaves his wife and son, John Demartin. The Funeral will take place at 3:30pm from the residence, 108 Broughton
