Born October 8, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan, she was a daughter of the late Charles Lee Holliday and the late Eleanor Goltz Holliday. She was a homemaker and a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church. Before her illness prevented it, she was very active in her church and her community, serving as treasurer for the Wesley Sunday School Class, treasurer of the Good Year's Club, and a member of the Tabernacle United Methodist Women's Circle #1. Mrs. Plyler also served as secretary of the Buford/Tabernacle/Tradesville Crime Watch, and was a member of the ladies auxiliary of the Mt. Clemens, Michigan Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks #2124.
Survivors include her husband, Samuel Lewis Plyler of the home; brother-in-law, Uriah W. Plyler of Matthews, NC; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Tabernacle United Methodist Church with The Reverend Jackie Connelly officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church, one hour prior to the service.
The family suggests that those who wish may make donations to Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 5908 Tabernacle Road, Lancaster, SC 29720 or to the charity of one's choice, in memory of Mrs. Plyler.
