Scranton-Carrie W(nee Wheeler) Scranton,92,unexpectedly Thrusday(August 31,1978) at the home of her daughter,Mrs Thomas J Neelon,Sr of Chattanooga,Tenn,Born in Buffalo,she had been a resident of Tonawanda for more than 70 years and for the past 7 months with her daughter in Chattanooga .Mrs. Scranton was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Tonawanda and was the wife of Mryon B Scranton who died in 1937 and mother of the late George C and Robert K Scranton.She is survived by three daughters,Mrs Robert(Ruth) Wharam of the Town of Tonawanda ,Mrs Thomas(Jennie) Neelon of Chattanooga and Mrs Harold(Helen) Person of Alpena,Mich.;a son ,Howard(Ruth) Scranton of Tonawanda;two daughters-in-law, .Mrs George(Bernice) Scranton and Mrs Robert(Marjorie)Scranton;both of Tonawanda.20 grandchildren,68 great grandchildren and 23 great great grandchildren. Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. on friday and 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at John O Roth funeral Home,Morgan and William Streets; Tonawanda where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday by the Rev.
