Marie A. Heighland, 77, of Wellington died Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at Hospice of North Central Ohio in Ashland.
Marie was born in Wellington on June 1, 1934, to Scott and Grace (née Hawkins) Bradley. She spent most of her life in Wellington and attended Wellington High School.
Marie worked as a secretary of United Church of Huntington for several years and sold Avon products, as well. She was a member of Wellington Grange. Marie enjoyed knitting and was an avid reader. She also liked to gamble, but most of all Marie enjoyed her family.
Marie is survived by her sons, Robert (Sandy) Heighland of Sherwood, Lamont (Darlene) Heighland of Sullivan and William (Pam) Heighland of Eaton Rapids Mich.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert.
Friends and family will be received 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2012, at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington, where services will take place 11 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2012, with the Rev. Stephen Carmany officiating. Burial will follow in Huntington Cemetery.
