PINCKNEYVILLE -- Robert Lee Milligan, 79, of Litchfield, died at 4:04 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012, in St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield with the Rev. Bob Zirkelbach officiating. Burial will be in Ga-lum Cemetery near Pinckneyville. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Robert Lee Milligan, 79, of Litchfield, died Thurs., Mar. 1, 2012 at 4:04 a.m. in St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.
He was born on Aug. 30, 1932 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son of Willard William & Audrey Emma (Anderson) Milligan.
He graduated from Pinckneyville High School. He obtained his BS in Agriculture, Masters in Education & Advance Certificate of Ag all from the University of Illinois in Urbana.
Mr. Milligan was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was an Agriculture Teacher in Marissa, Mascoutah & Litchfield for a total of 24 years & later retired from Litchfield School District. He also farmed in Raymond for 26 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Litchfield. In his religious life he served as Deacon, Trustee & Elder and had also taught adult Sunday School. He was also a member of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau. In his leisure time, he enjoyed camping & collecting antiques. He married Charlotte McCann on July 15, 1956 in Cobden, IL. She survives. He is also survived by:
1 daughter, Charlotte (Dan);
2 grandsons
2 sisters, Irene of Sparta; Nancy of DuQuoin
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gerald Milligan
Funeral services will be held Sat., Mar. 3, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Visitation will be held Saturday from
1 p.m. until service time in the funeral home. Burial will be in Galum Cemetery near Pinckneyville, IL, on Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
