Strayer was born in Gratz, the son of the late Harry and Sarah Hoover Strayer. He resided in Gratz until 1929, after which he resided in Middletown R. D. and in Dalmatia R. D. He was employed at the Olmstead Air Force Base, Middletown, for 18 years but retired about a year ago. He was a member of the Gratz Reformed Church.
Surviving are his wife, the former Verna A. Lahr, two sisters, three children and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Marlin S. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, and will be continued in the Simeon's Lutheran and Reformed Church, Gratz. Burial will be in the Gratz Union Cemetery. Rev. Arthur Roberts, of Pillow, will be assisted by Rev. W. Z. Artz, of Elizabethville, in officiating.
Friends may call at the Marlin S. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, Wednesday evening from 7 to 9.
