Mahala Shattuck, dau of Ebenezer, was born in Mason, NH. Jan 29, 1792 and died in Modena, Plattekill, Ulster Co., NY Jun 6, 1829. age 37y 4m 7d. She married Nathan Baker,(a brother of Joseph Baker who married her sister, Lucy) 7 Apr 1816. They settled in Pompey, but later moved to Genesee Co., NY. where Mahala is buried. Her stone is one of the few that can be still read. Nathan remarried and moved to Racine, Wisconsin and then to Battle Creek, and later Union City, Calhoun Co., MI. where he died and is buried next to his second wife, at Abscota Cemetery.
