Jacob J. Augustine, eighty-six, Columbia R2, West Hempfield Twp., died yesterday at 9 p.m. at his home after a prolonged illness. Born in Columbia, a son of the late John J. and Susan Cox Augustine, he was a member of the Masonville Mennonite Church and Sunday School. He lived in the vicinity of Columbia his entire life and was a retired iron worker, last employed in the old Susquehanna Rolling Mill, Columbia. He was the last of his immediate family.
Surviving are his wife, Mabel Dombach Augustine, one son, John J., Miami, Fla.; and four step-children, Irwin Witmer, Columbia R2; Thelma, wife of William Myers, Miami, Fla.; Willard Ralston and Elva, wife of William Feltch, both of Columbia. (Lancaster New Era - Jan 4, 1956).
