John Clifford Gibbs was born in Gore Bay Ontario Canada, on September 10th 1902 to Mr John Gibbs and Wife Minnie Sophia Gibbs. John "Cliff" Gibbs, played both baseball and hockey through his school years growing up in Gore bay,and His Hockey team won championship status in 1921. In 1923 he moved to Detroit Michigan, where he landed a job with the Kelsey Hayes Wheel corporation where he only worked a short time, until being hired in at the Ford Motor Company where he eventually settled in at the accounting department. On August 1st 1937 he was hired as Edsel Fords personal accountant. In Feb of 1938 he became a United States citizen and registered to vote in Detroit. After 14 years with the Ford Motor Company and 34 at the Ford estate he retired in 1974.

John met his wonderful wife Iola in 1923, they married on August 3rd 1925. They had 3 wonderful children Gail Arline Gibbs born in 1935, James Clifford Gibbs, born in 1936 and Arthur Vardon Gibbs born in 1940.


John Passed away in Novi michigan in 1996.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Iola A Gibbs after 69 years of marriage.

He is survived by his daughter, Gail Gibbs, and sons Jim and Art Gibbs, and all of their 9 Grandchildren and inlaws.
