She says she is of a nervous temperament and subject to heart trouble and that a continuation of her trouble would have ruined her health. She has filed an action for divorce in the superior court and asked that her maiden name of Derbyshire be restored. 3m: Dr. Samuel Crawford Keltner on Aug. 3, 1910, in Noble Co., IN. He was a dentist. They divorced the next year: Mrs. Luella Keltner begins action for divorce from Samuel Keltner. The husband wouldn't talk to his wife, did everything to embarrass her, neglected her and finally Mrs. Keltner says he abandoned her. Thomas and Townsend are attorneys for the plaintiff. Dr. Luella Derbyshire opened a much-needed Maternity Hospital in Fort Wayne for unwed mothers. She helped many young women in despair. Prior to that, she operated a private hospital on Cass Street, probably at her home.
Luella died of tabes dorsalis at 51 years of age. Her name is listed as Luella Mck. Derbyshire in her will. She is buried next to her parents.
