"Father"
Franklin Democrat, Friday, 22 May 1908, pg 6
Uncle James Buckner attended church at Beech Grove Sunday. In conversation he said, “I settled here sixty-one years ago this spring” pointing toward the farm that joins up to the church on the east and south. He talked of his clearing off the great woods, of rolling logs and burning logs and brush and the pioneer’s hardships and usages. He said, “Only two are living that were living in the surroundings sixty-one years ago.” They are Joe F. Weddle and Rachel Ann Brown. Uncle James is 83 years of age and has been a member of the church during a good life time.
