Wife of James M. Drake.Sarah Ann "Sallie" (McCleary or Race) Drake was born Jan. 11, 1833 in Pennsylvania. She was married to James Montgomery Drake. They had one daughter, Sarah A Sallie born around the time of Sarah's death, poss. husband Millard Filmore Kepler. This Sarah was either the daughter of Anthony Race and unknown mother, or, Barbara Swartz and Michael McCleary. Most likely CLEARY, as Barbara married Anthony Drake in 1839, after Sarah's birth. Her daughter is living with that family after her death (the child's grandparents possibly?).

1840 Chapman, Clinton, PA, Anthony Race, 1 male 20-29 (Anthony 23), 1 male 10-14, 1 female 40-49 (an older wife or mother?), 1 female 5-9 (?) this could be Sarah - IF the father was Anthony Race.

1850 Chapman, Clinton, PA, Montgomery Drake 25, a Farmer, real estate $100, wife SARAH A 18, Sarah Drake 67, widowed, David A Drake 20.

Sallie died on Feb. 26, 1852 at age 18. She was buried at the Youngwomanstown Cemetery.

Youngwomanstown Cemetery, AKA Old North Bend Cemetery.
1.2.8 Drake Sallie Ann, age 18.8.27, w/o James M, S.A.D., born 1-11-1833, died 2-26-1852.

Her daughter after her death, living with the grandparents ?
1860 Chapman, Clinton, PA, Anthony Race 49 born abt 1811 France, a Blacksmith, real estate $1,200, personal estate $40, Barbara 55 born abt 1805 PA, Jane Race 17, C C Welsh 32 born abt 1828, a Lumberman, Elizabeth Welsh 20, SALLIE DRAKE age 9, George Pfoutz 5.

Daughter Sarah "Sallie" Drake Kepler's death date or burial place has not been found. After James Montgomery Drake died, his 2nd wife Elizabeth left a Last Will, and left "his" daughter (not hers) Sallie Drake $10.
It is possible she was the wife of Millard Filmore Kepler, but she's listed as widowed by the 1880 census. There was also a Sallie A that was then married to Clarence Maxwell, and she died in 1882 at 30 years of age, born abt the same time as this Sarah...another possibility for her after the death of Millard Kepler?

Died
Maxwell – In this place, June 30, 1882, Sally A., wife of Mr. Clarence P. Maxwell, aged 30 years, 4 months and 4 days.
Good-bye, my wife, "tis now we part,
Yet sweet the moments fled,
And now it nearly breaks my heart
As thus good-bye is said.
Good-bye, my wife, you leave me now,
With all the pangs of Death;
Delung to thee, thou knowest well,
As life to its own breath.
Good-bye, my wife, thy image clear,
I'll take where er I go;
Thy constant faith and friendship dear
I shall forever know.
I'll always keep thee near my heart,
As here and there I roam;
Thy Angel presence will cheer my way,
And lead me back to home.
Good-bye my wife, we'll meet again,
This parting hour will fly;
And joy will come to conquer pain,
And I'll most ? in the sweet by and bye.

"If" she was this Sarah's daughter, Clarence went on to marry a widow, Elizabeth Swoyer Mack and had son Charles F Maxwell, buried in this county.
