LYONS — James L. Murphy, 89, died Saturday morning at the Lyons District Hospital after
a short illness. He was born Jan. 1, 1884, at Stockdale and married Mary George Anne (Stout) April 12, 1922, at Pine Bluff, Ark. She died June 13, 1963.
He came to Lyons in 1967 from Sapulpa, Okla. He was a retired construction worker for Standard Oil Co.
He was a member of the First Christian Church, Siloam Springs, Ark.; lOOF Lodge 412; and Crystal Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include daughters: Mrs. Delthena Murphy, Columbia, Conn.; Mrs. Aileen Munro, West Minster, Md.; Mrs. Mildred Williams, Lyons; Mrs. Wanda Mae Jones, Sapulpa; sons: Elston Dale, Garland, Neb.; Leland, Oklahoma City; step-sons: Floyd A. Morris, Hulbert, Okla.; Wesley J., Garden City; sisters: Mrs. Francis Swadley, Alva, Okla.; and 30 grandchildren.
Funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church, Lyons; Rev. David Branson. Burial will be in Lyons Cemetery.
