Minnie Tinnie Grubbs is the daughter of Washington and Emily Gladys "Maples" Grubbs. Minnie was the youngest child of eight children, born in Alabama. She moved to Texas with her parents and resided at Milford, Ellis County, Texas, Duffaw, Erath County, Texas and finally came to the Panhandle of Texas to Hall County, Texas in 1889.

Minnie married George W Scott April 21, 1895 in Hall County, Texas. They were the parents of eight children; Tinnie E, Earl A, Chester, Tixie May, George Fred, Philip Ray, and Gladdis (Gladys) Scott. George W. died October 21, 1931 at the age 59, he is buried in Hart Cemetery, Pontotoc County, Oklahoma. Minnie died in 1959, Minnie was 84 when she passed away, and is buried in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
